چکیده
Background: Acute appendicitis is considered the most common surgical emergency in both adults and children. Open rather than laparoscopic appendectomy still commonly performed procedure. Objective: To assess effect of non-closure peritoneum during on postoperative pain finally analgesia requirement. Patients Methods: Two hundred patients underwent appendicectomy. The were divided into two equal groups; each had one patients. Group 1 (control or closure Group) which, closed; group 2 (study Group), left alone without closing it. Results: mean score was less compared to that group. A significant decrease parenteral requirements shown Conclusion: Leaving not sutured appendicectomy has a positive outcome decreases requirement for analgesia.

A Randomized Study Comparing Non-Closure and Closure of Visceral and Parietal Peritoneum During Cesarean Section
Objectives: To assess the short term morbidity of non-closure of the visceral and parietal peritoneal at caesarean section as compared to suture peritonization. Methods: A prospective randomized controlled trial of 200 women undergoing cesarean section was done; randomized into non-closure and closure groups. Perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative details were recorded in the proforma....
متن کاملclosure or non–closure of peritoneum in cesarean section: outcomes of short-term complications
results pain scores, analgesic requirements assessed at 24 hours and operation duration were significantly lower in the non-closure group as compared to the closure group. febrile conditions and changes in hemoglobin levels were similar in both groups. conclusions non-closure of both visceral and the parietal peritoneum when performing a cs produces a significant reduction in pain, fewer analge...
متن کاملClosure versus non-closure of the peritoneum at caesarean section: short- and long-term outcomes
BACKGROUND Caesarean section is a very common surgical procedure worldwide. Suturing the peritoneal layers at caesarean section may or may not confer benefit, hence the need to evaluate whether this step should be omitted or routinely performed. OBJECTIVES The objective of this review was to assess the effects of non-closure as an alternative to closure of the peritoneum at caesarean section ...
متن کاملClosure or Non-Closure of Peritoneum in Cesarean Section: Outcomes of Short-Term Complications
BACKGROUND Cesarean section (CS) is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures worldwide. The complications following a CS include fever, wound infection, post-operative pain and bleeding which are not usually found in a normal vaginal delivery. Traditionally, suturing of peritoneal layers for CS patients has been done, but in some studies it has been shown that this procedure cou...
متن کاملPatient controlled analgesia versus conventional analgesia for postoperative pain
Purpose: Patients may control postoperative pain by self-administration of intravenous opioids using devices designed for this purpose (patient controlled analgesia or PCA). This study set out to determine whether any of the two opioid administrations (i.e. PCA or conventional analgesia) would provide superior pain relief among patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy or not. ...
